Kitchen Before & Afters: Creating a Cohesive Look
New Kitchen Cabinets to Create a Cohesive Look
This architecturally significant home was routinely studied by Tulane architecture students every semester. However, the kitchen did not match the rest of the house and stood out. To create a more cohesive look, we opened up the space between the kitchen and breakfast room and created a wrap around cabinet by removing a brick chimney. In the kitchen we custom designed the hood as the focal point and included a modernized Sub-Zero and Wolf appliance package. We also designed a full working wet bar in the breakfast room for entertaining. One challenge we faced involved creating cabinets that still flowed well between the rooms despite having two different ceiling heights. We also worked closely with a local interior designer in order to turn this kitchen into a masterpiece.
