St. Charles Avenue
A 1920s Home Gets a Modernized Kitchen
This 1920s Mediterranean style home located on St. Charles Avenue belongs to a couple with young children who wanted a more modern style kitchen. For this project we worked closely with an architect who custom designed all of the furniture including the hutch. The homeowners wanted to hide their coffee maker, toaster and other appliances, therefore we built nooks with lift-up doors on both sides of the window. This and the rest of the cabinetry feature brass hardware to match the hood. A farmhouse sink was installed along with beautiful marble countertops. The stove top features a full height marble backsplash with a brass pot filler. The ceiling was built using pecky cypress to create a warm and clean atmosphere found in most transitional style homes.
