Kitchen Before & Afters: Historic Uptown Cottage

This historic Uptown cottage home belonged to previous clients who had recently become empty nesters and had a desire to downsize. Despite the limitations of an old structure, we were able to remove a wall between the kitchen and back entryway in order to give them an additional five feet of space. The design for this kitchen was centered around and inspired by an antique English breakfront found by the client. Due to its large size, the antique ended up covering a window and blocking natural light. To fix this, we added windows to the top of the breakfront which helped to bring back the light.
